If you happen to pop into POD 1 you mind see a number of kids (not sure how many…how could we work that out?) counting all sorts of things. Even Mrs. Ellis got into the act and brought in some really interesting things from home that Mr. Ellis needed counted.
People count in all different ways in different situations… sometimes we count by ones or twos and other times we count by bigger numbers. The other week my mum asked me to count some 50 cents coins she had been saving and there was a whole bucket full – I had to think about what would be the best way to count them. How would you count them?
Last term YPCC got involved the ‘The 5 cent project’ and there was lots and lots of 5 cent coins – if I can remember we had collected 3270 coins – that is a lot of coins! If you had to count that many coins how would you count them?
