Welcome Pod 1 2016!!!

Hello everyone and welcome back to what has already been a busy and exciting start to the year.

We are working really hard on our new school values and lots of people have earned wristbands already for displaying the values of belonging and respect.

Well done to Sophie Clee for getting 2 awards at assembly from both her pod teachers and the specialists. This shows that she has a wonderful capacity for making others feel like they belong. Also a big congratulations to Phoenix Paige and Chris Stenner for their leadership in helping with organising and making feel welcome the new preps. Well done everyone.

Keep an eye on this space!

Fun Fitness

Today we participated in Fun Fitness activities in the gym with Pod 3 girls and Grillsy. It was heaps of fun . We scootered, stretched, ran and jumped. It really got our heart going!imageimage

Slatey Creek Bush Experience!

Today a group of Pod 1 students went to the Creswick State Forest and visited Slatey Creek with Mr Guest and Tara. Together we took part in fun and healthy outdoor activities such as bush walking, cubby building, tag and teamwork games.
I have 2 questions for each of you who were lucky enough to visit Slatey Creek:

1) What was your favourite part of the day?

2 What was the interesting item that you found in the bush and what are 3 words you wrote to describe it?

Great work on being healthy and active Pod 1 students!

Grand Opening of The Best Restaurant Ever

On Monday 7th September, Pod 1C had the Grand Opening of their restaurant… The Best Restaurant Ever!

Using the stock our suppliers (Krystal, Matt, Jeremy, Izabella & Courtney) purchased on their outing on Friday, the Chefs (Allysa, Ally, Nayha, Tiarni, Jacob and Codie) went to work early measuring, mixing and cooking a two course meal of Tuna Pasta Bake and Chocolate Self-Saucing Pudding. As we were preparing meals for 30 students and teachers we had to work out how to adjust the recipes.

Can you guess how many times we increased our recipes?

While our chefs were busy in the kitchen our Inspectors (Brayden, Luke, Jai, Chris & Xavier) checked to ensure our tables & chairs were stable, our chefs had used proper hygiene procedures and quality control tasting.  Our waiters (Dhilan, Maddy, Phoenix, Alexa, Ashley & Sophie) set the tables using our personalised placemats, cutlery and cups. Colourful restaurant signage and menus were prepared and put up by our talented marketing team (Shakira, Bryce, Jaxon, Janae, Troy) to brighten our restaurant and make it look very professional.

All set up and ready to go…we just need our diners!

Cue Pod 1B, Scotty, Tara & Ricky…

Pod 1 Restaurant Supplies Trip

On Friday students from Pod 1 A & C walked to Stocklands charged with the task of purchasing supplies for the Restaurant Grand Openings this week.

We had two shopping lists and visited all but 4 of the supermarket aisles.

Can you guess some of the items we bought?

Today some cool kids got to go to the Lake to have a bit of fun with Sandy and Macca. These cool kids ALWAYS do the right thing and try their best. They were; Naya, Djakira, Kayla, Brayden, Luke, Adam, Phoenix, Shane and Brooke. They had lots of fun running around and being crazy and trying to defend their bread from the pesky crows, who would try to steal it.
